Frequently Asked Questions

Is a reservation required?

Yes – if you can, please pre-book to avoid disappointment – book online, by email or phone as set out in the tour description. If you turn up on the day and there are places available please pay your tour guide in cash at the end of the tour. If you have a large group please email us with your requirements.

How do I find your Bike shop or meeting point?

Belfast City Bike Tours is based at Norm’s Bikes which is located inside Smithfield Marketplace, Winetavern Street, Belfast Bt1 1JE – located just behind the Castle Court Shopping Centre 5 minutes walk from the City Hall and the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer 100% refunds on all tours if the reservation is cancelled more than 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled tour. We do not offer refunds for any reason within 72 hours of scheduled tour.

How long is the tour?

Most of our tours are around 15 kilometres (10 miles) and last about 3 hours with plenty of refreshments and sightseeing stops – all at conversational cycling pace riding our super comfy City Cruiser bikes on flat terrain.

Is cycling safe in Belfast?

Belfast is becoming more bike friendly but like most other outdoor activities in an urban traffic environment there is a degree of risk involved. Your safety is our priority – we follow carefully planned routes using as far as possible designated bike lanes, parkways and cycle networks. All participants are issued with helmets and offered HiViz gilets. Our bikes are suitable for males and females and for younger people usually from about the age of 13 or 14 years. We ask all participants to sign a cycling competency agreement and where we consider a client as incompetent to cycle with us we reserve the right to refuse participation.

What’s included in the price?

Local, informative and knowledgable bike tour guides; California City Cruiser bikes; safety brief and cycle competency agreement; public liability insurance ….. Fun and Craic!

How fit do you need to be?

All of our tours follow flat and level cycle routes with few inclines so a normal level of personal fitness is more than adequate to tour with us. We recommend that anyone with health issues should consult with their doctor before signing up for one of our tours.

Are your tours suitable for children?

Our City Cruiser bikes are suitable for people over 5 feet tall – this normally precludes people less than 13 or 14 years old.

Do you deliver hire bikes to hotels/guest houses?
Yes, dependent on nos and with a delivery charge.
